Statement of Clarification Regarding the First Chinese Edition of Natural Language Processing: A Machine Learning Perspective

I am the co-author of Natural Language Processing: A Machine Learning Perspective, originally published by Cambridge University Press.

To avoid any misunderstanding among readers, instructors, students and other interested parties regarding the publication of the first Chinese edition, I would like to clarify the following facts based on my own direct knowledge and personal involvement:

  1. During the publication process of the first Chinese edition, I was not formally notified of the final list of translators, the translated manuscript, or the publication arrangements, nor was I consulted or involved in any related discussions.
  2. I did not participate in the publication planning, publication process, selection of translators, translation, review of the translation, editorial proofreading, or any other publication-related work relating to the first Chinese edition. Nor did I review or confirm the first Chinese edition in any form.
  3. Accordingly, the publication of the first Chinese edition should not be understood as indicating that I participated in, reviewed or endorsed the selection of translators, the translated text, the editorial review or the publication process of that edition.

This statement is intended solely to clarify the above facts and to avoid misunderstanding. It is not directed at any individual or organisation, nor should it be understood as expressing any view regarding the responsibility of any person or organisation.

This statement reflects my own direct knowledge and understanding of the above matters as of the date of this statement.
